The records document the publications and operations of Consumers' Research, Inc. Included are copies of most monthly and annual publications of Consumers' Research between 1927 and 1983. Publications include Consumers' Research Confidential Bulletin Service (1930-1932), Consumers' Research Confidential Bulletin (1934-1935), Consumers' Research General Bulletin (1931-1935), Consumers' Research Handbook of Buying (1930-1935), Consumers' Research Bulletin (1935-1957), Consumers Bulletin (1957-1973), Consumers' Research Magazine (1973-1983), Special Bulletins (1928-1942), Consumers Bulletin Annual (1936-1973), and Consumers Digest (1937-1941). Also included are the earliest publications of the Consumers' Club such as the Consumers' Club Commodity List (1927-1928), Scientific Buying (1929), and Confidential Bulletins (1928-1929). Materials concerning the production of CR's publications include correspondence, memoranda, magazine and newspaper clippings. Subjects concern art work, schedules, Christmas cards, copyright, corrections, tear sheets of "Off the Editor's Chest" editorials, errors in CR's materials, printers and printing, style of publication, CR's reprints, permission to reprint, and sources for articles in publications. Also included are Consumers' Research Magazine indexes, copies of "Introduction to CR," "Consumer Test Manual," and "Consumer Study Outline."
